Good evening, Resident,
Operation Sceptre is a national policing initiative, coordinated across forces in England and Wales, which focuses on tackling knife crime through a combination of enforcement, prevention, and education. Activity includes high-visibility patrols, weapon sweeps, engagement with young people, and partnership work with local communities and retailers to reduce knife-related harm.
As part of the current week of action, officers from the Neighbourhood Beat Team, Neighbourhood Task Force (NTF), and Child Central Policing Team (CCPT) have been conducting proactive patrols and weapon sweeps in key locations. Areas covered include:
Officers carried out thorough searches of bushes, plant areas, and other potential concealment locations. ✅ No weapons or dangerous items were located.
Proactive patrols and activity will continue throughout the week as part of ongoing efforts to prevent knife crime, protect the public, and provide reassurance within the community.
